Pantone, self-described as “the global authority on color” proclaims Tangerine Tango as the the 2012 Color of the Year.
“Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy,” states Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
Here are some ideas on how to wear this reddish orange hue. I’m seeing it along with varying shades of orange everywhere, including at Wet Seal, Michael Kors, Ann Taylor and more. Here are a few ideas to help you try tangoing with tangerine.

It’s funny, just as I was thinking that I don’t have any clothes in Tangerine Tango or any shade of orange for that matter, I realized that I’m surrounded by a similar shade many hours a day. My home office is a lighter orange, and I felt instantly drawn toward a bright orange when picking an iPad case. Next step is an item of clothing. But where to start? I’m not sure. How about you?
Coming up tomorrow, a look at another IT color — YELLOW!
