Deck the Halls (and table too!) with Standout Seasonal Touches

7 Dec

When it comes to decking your halls with seasonal spirit, you can make a big statement, even with a few touches.

A fast way to add some seasonal flair is to get creative with ornaments.  Think beyond the tree.  Here’s an idea from Pottery Barn (Level 2). Add ornaments in your favorite color to a basket. Or, use the basket to display your favorites. A vase works well too!

Merry & Bright!

Check out this fun way to display a sleigh! Use it as a serving piece or as a decoration with a few presents stacked on top.

Plus, every day leading up to Christmas, Pottery Barn is offering a “Gift of the Day” special.  Enjoy a different markdown each day.  Also, every Wednesday, up until Christmas, the store is opening at 8 am for your shopping convenience.

Crate & Barrel (Level 2) also has some of it’s holiday decor marked down, including ornaments.   Plus, you’ll find ornament stands.  The stands give you another way to spotlight your most treasured ornaments. Or, if you have young children or a dog, a stand like this can offer protection from little hands and paws.

Consider a seasonal throw pillow to make your living room or den feel like a Christmas wonderland. These pillows are also from Crate & Barrel.

Hanukkah Decor & More…

3 Dec

The countdown to the holidays is in full swing! If you’re celebrating Hanukkah, the shopping time is really getting down to the wire! Hanukkah starts Saturday at sundown.

I rounded up some fun Hanukkah themed items that would make great hostess gifts or festive ways to add a seasonal touch to your home.

The Mercury Glass menorah caught my eye right away when I saw the Hanukkah table display at Pottery Barn (Level 2). It comes in two sizes. It features vines made out of brass along with a glass base with an antique-mercury wash.

4th of July Entertaining POTTERY BARN Style! Plus, lots of summer items are on SALE!

26 Jun

Looking for some pops of red, white and blue to add to your 4th of July celebration?

Pottery Barn (Level 2) has some fun finds. Even better — the timing is right. Lots of summer items are on SALE!

I can’t wait to show you what I found there the other day! It’s not only perfect for July 4th, but is a conversation piece you’ll have for years to come — that is if your kids don’t hijack it for their stuffed animals!  This blue tabletop adirondack chair is a napkin holder!

The most unusual napkin holder I’ve ever seen!

Pottery Barn’s table displays are a great source of inspiration. You can get lots of ideas on how to add some 4th of July spirit to your table.

Table Displays are Full of Inspiration

Love these vintage looking condiment jars. They also come in salt and pepper shakers.

Far cuter than the bottle on the table!

Check out these decorative drink dispensers! They make great fruit holders when not in use.

You can dress up these melamine bubble glasses by adding your own touch of red, white and blue little ribbons around the stems.

I assumed these bowls were glass until I picked one up. They’re perfect for fruit salads, ice-cream, and dips. They also come in green.

Red, White, Blue and Can’t Break!

You’ll also find coordinating serving pieces.

I also stumbled upon this Horseshoes Set. It comes with a user-friendly carrying case, so you can tote it along to a 4th of July party.
