Memorable Gifts for Dad at Tiffany & Co.

15 Jun

I have a confession… I’ve never looked for anything for men at Tiffany & Co. (Level 2).  My attention has always been swayed by the necklaces, bracelets and earrings that I would pick for me!

So, with Father’s Day fast approaching, I thought I would check out what you can put inside a Little Blue Box (or Big in some cases) for men. Your dad or hubby will never know you waited until almost the last minute if you present him with a statement piece from Tiffany & Co.

I was blown away by all of the treasures there for men.  Here’s a slideshow of a few favorites, including cuff links that will last a lifetime and can be passed on to generations to come,  luxe leather wallets, and much more! For the card shark, there is even a Tiffany set of playing cards that can be paired with a sterling silver “Dealer”  button.

On the CASE for a gift for DAD at Capitol Luggage & Leather

12 Jun

If you’re on the case for a new briefcase, backpack or any carrier large or small for Dad, check out Capitol Luggage & Leather (Level 4)!

The T-Pass by Tumi caught my eye the moment I walked into the store. This power backpack is made out of a soft, durable leather with heavy gage zippers and is built to last. It has a clean, classic and sophisticated look with its black on black design.

But, now for the best part — This bag is also built for the high-tech traveller. You can pass through airport security with this bag without the hassle of having to remove your laptop. You just unzip the main part of the backpack and security can scan your laptop straight through this special compartment.

Here’s another pick.  Like the Tumi backpack, this mahogany colored bag is one Dad will have for many years to come.

Made from soft, rich leather!

If you really want to spoil Dad this Father’s Day, how about planning a weekend getaway and leaving him a homemade gift certificate about it inside this classic carry-on bag from Briggs & Riley. While it’s sized for a two to three day trip, the folks at Capitol Luggage & Leather have had customers tell them they’ve packed it for a week-long-trip and have avoided the restrictions that go with checking a bag. For tips on effectively packing, click here to watch a video clip  I shared on the blog a few months back.

A carry-on bag that will carry you over for several days!

Check out this standout briefcase and document portfolio from the Hartmann Reserve Collection.  This collection features the same leather used for high-quality belts and is also designed to be long-lasting.

Father’s Day Gifts at Brookstone!

11 Jun

Whether he’s a kid at heart or a grill king, Brookstone (Level 3) is your source for high-tech treasures for Dad!

With the Grill Alert Talking Remote Meat Thermometer ($69.99), Dad will have an assistant grill master and won’t need to babysit the grill at every moment.  He can venture up to 300 feet away and still be in touch with how the meat or fish is coming along.

Talking Remote Meat Thermometer

Here’s how the wireless thermometer works. You put the stainless steel probe into your meat or fish.  Then, use the remote to select what  you’re grilling and if you want it cooked rare, medium rare, medium or well done.  The talking remote will tell you when your meal is almost done and when it’s ready.  The remote comes with a belt clip.  Click here for a video demonstration from Brookstone.

I felt like Brookstone was reading my mind when I saw the Pocket Projector for the iPhone 4 ($229.99).  My neighbors and I have been talking about doing outdoor movie nights, and this gizmo could be just the right solution. It would be a great gift for me — I mean my husband…

The projector creates up to a 50-inch screen on any surface — indoor or out and even provides instant backseat entertainment in the car.  All you do is dock your iPhone4 in it, and you’re all set. There is a built in speaker system.  You can watch movies, family videos, picture slideshows and anything you can access from your phone.  The projector will even charge the phone while it entertains.

Check out the portable Outdoor Wireless Speaker and Dock ($129.99 on sale). As Brookstone puts it, you can “dock and rock.”  This weather resistant speaker can play music from up to 150 feet away from your phone, MP3 player or home stereo.  It can also be used inside. At night, it gives off a blue glow.

It’s even weather resistant

Who says toys are just for kids? Dad may have to share this one.

The hobby grade  Cloud DSS Long-Range Copter ($149.99) can fly the length of two football fields!  At night, Dad can impress the kids with a light show. The plane has a searchlight and multi-color body lights.

Take Flight

One serious “toy!”

Say Cheers to everything Dad does for the family with a pair of Australian beer glasses ($39.99 or 4 for $70).  The double-walled glasses keep  beer cooler for a longer amount of time, prevent condensation and hold up to 16 oz!  You can even keep them in the freezer so they’re ready to go. They’re also dishwasher friendly.

Cheers!

So, if you could choose any one of these gifts for a well-deserved dad in your life, which one would you pick?
