Ready to Strut that Swimsuit? Tips for matching your suit to your shape!

15 May

The countdown until swimsuit season is here. Are you ready?

It can be overwhelming to take the plunge and head to the dressing room with a stack of suits to try — especially when you’re not quite sure what styles are most flattering for you. Audrey Jimenez, an Everything But Water Style & Fit Expert offers these tips on matching a swimsuit to your shape. Everything But Water (Level 3) is a year-round source for the hottest swim looks.

MONOKINI, CUTOUT STYLES

“Monokinis, part of the chic cutout trend, are a sexy, daring silhouette that show some skin while providing some tummy coverage,” reveals Audrey. “They help create the illusion of curves.” She suggests this style for boyish figures.

TANKINI

The tankini can work on all figures. You have the comfort of a two piece but with more coverage. Audrey reports, “Shirred tankinis additionally provide figure-flattering magic, disguising figure flaws.”

BRA-SIZED

Suits that come in bra sizes are great for any woman. They’re especially helpful for women with larger busts. The sizing on bra-sized suits often goes up to 32F+. “Many designers are taking the guesswork out of fitting the bust with expanded bra-sized offerings. Larger cupped suits have sizing and inner construction that caters to a larger bust,” describes Audrey.

BLOUSON

“This borrowed-from-ready-to-wear style is both forgiving and sophisticated,” says Audrey of the blouson suit style. “The flattering silhouette disguises midriff issues or love handles. It also creates interest for smaller chests and flatters larger busts.”

Retailers Raising Breast Cancer Awareness & What You Can Do to Support this Important Cause!

3 Oct

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to let you know about the important steps a few stores around the mall are taking to support the fight against breast cancer and to raise awareness.

Join The Walking Company (Level 4) in Walking for Hope.  The retailer’s Walking for Hope fundraising initiative includes a goal of raising more than $250,000 in the fight against breast cancer.  In store, you’ll find “pink ribbon” shoe styles from UGG Australia, ECCO, Dansko and ABEO. Five percent of the purchase of any pink ribbon item will be donated to support the battle against breast cancer.

The Walking Company is partnering with City of Hope, “one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases” along with hundreds of charities across the country for its month-long initiative.

At Everything But Water, 25% of the proceeds from its exclusive, limited edition Deux Lux for Everything But Water Smartphone Wristlet benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national education and support organization for women at all stages of diagnosis. The wristlet is $44.

White House Black Market (Level 2) just released a special Give Hope collection to raise breast cancer awareness.  The retailer is donating $10 from each Give Hope bracelet sale and $20 from the sale of each Give Hope tee to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Plus, you can help raise even more money for Living Beyond Breast Cancer. TOMORROW (10/4)  you can save and give at the same time.  Enjoy 15% off your full price purchase at White House Black Market, and a portion of the day’s net sales will  be donated to the organization.  Mention that you saw this promotion on the GURU blog and you won’t need the coupon.

Know of any other Towson Town Center retailers joining in on the battle against Breast Cancer? Let me know…
