GURU Style Star: Sheena Jones & Summer Trends Happy Hour Recap!

Thanks to everyone for making our Summer Trends Happy Hour event at Stoney River last night (5/15) a hit!

My style is a bit classic with a little bit of pop.

If you could go back to any decade for the fashion, what would you pick?

The ’90s. You could be so free. You could wear a paint splattered shirt, stone washed jeans… No one cared in the ’90s. Everything happened in the ’90s.

If I gave you $1000 to spend anywhere at the mall, what would you buy?

Shoes, jeans, you can never have enough jeans, purses, accessories… Accessories can make an old outfit look new!

Finding the PERFECT Prom Dress! See 12 sizzling styles!

Have you noticed all the sparkles, sequins and shiny gowns popping up around the mall?

Prom season is HERE!

I had planned to wait until next month to start featuring prom looks, but then heard that many girls are already on the prowl for the perfect dress. I hit BCBGMAXAZRIA, Caché and dELiA*s to get a sense of the styles!

I saw nearly as many colors out there as dresses! You can go for a bold jewel tone dress, a pastel look or a classic black. I spotted more long gowns but found many cute, short ones too!  Hi-Lo hemlines and single shoulder styles continue to be hot trends!

Pantone, the world’s leading authority on color, has designated EMERALD as the color of 2013!

Expect to see this rich hue everywhere! It’s already popping up in stores!

If you’re looking to just dip your feet in when it comes to a new color, try a simple tee or sweater. Check out these finds from Ann Taylor (Level 4). Other colors should be green with envy as green can pair up with so many hues!

Have you been into BCBGMAXAZRIA lately? The jacket and coat selection is amazing!  It’s enough to make me welcome the cooler temps.

The styles represent the latest trends, including the military inspired look. I’ll salute the Royce Double-Breasted Military Jacket.  It’s definitely on my wish-list!
