While poking around Francesca’s Collections (Level 4) the other day, I looked up and spotted this week’s GURU Style Star! There are some days that I head out with the purpose of finding a Style Star to feature. On this day, I wasn’t even on the lookout.
Turns out, the same way I stumbled upon Michele is exactly how she shops. “I go into a store and let my eye lead me to where I want to go. I never have a purpose. I find that if I have a purpose I never find what I want,” explains this writing professor, who teaches at MICA and Towson University. “If I let myself be Zen about it, something will jump out at me…” She adds, “If I see a belt and it inspires me, then I can see a whole outfit.”
Michele’s beret is a Nordstrom find from several years ago. On top, she’s wearing a layered look starting with two camis — in chocolate and fuschia — then a wrap-around sweater and a cropped brown jacket. She scored the jacket at Arden B. about three years ago. Michele bought the snake print skirt, which came with the double belt, at Nordstrom this season. Her boots are also from Nordstrom. As you’ll see in the slideshow below, Michele is also wearing standout patterned hose. Her purple bag is by Jessica Simpson.
Describe your style:
I have a passion for fashion. I’m experimental as long as it’s chic or elegant and age appropriate.
What is your favorite store at Towson Town Center?
Nordstrom or Bebe. …. Bebe is [about] style and modern and Nordstrom is modern, elegant and chic.
What is the most treasured item in your closet?
I’m an accessories freak. I can’t tell you. I start my outfit every day with my accessory choices.
