While Katie Cubas describes her style as “less glamourous” since having kids, glamourous is the exact word that came to mind when I saw her pushing her 2-year-old daughter through the mall.
This week’s GURU Style Star is wearing a standout black and white graphic dress from Caché. She found it about two years ago, and it still looks new! Katie says she’s also dressed it up with heels for evening.

How would you describe you style?
I’m a mom, so I have a lot of casual pieces. I like them to be multi-functional — where I can dress them up with accessories and heels and wear them to go out or while out and about with my daughter.
How has your style changed since having kids?
It’s less glamourous. A lot of jeans, a lot of capris. I do love dresses. I prefer dresses. it’s easier for me as opposed to finding matching pieces.
Who inspires you when it comes to style?
My mom is very much into fashion. I would say that she guides me more than anybody elese. She taught me how to dress with class. You always have to be classy regardless of what you wear. I don’t like pieces that show a lot of skin.
What trend are you looking forward to this fall?
I love the booties — the ankle booties. I think those are just adorable.
