Gel Manicures, known for their staying power and high shine, are all the rage. Sephora (Level 2) offers a new Sephora by OPI Gelshine kit that you can use at home.

The Sephora by OPI Gelshine system comes with everything you need to give yourself a high-tech, long-lasting gel manicure and pedicure, including a removal solution. You do a base coat, two coats of polish and a top coat. Following each layer — you “cure” your nails under the kit’s LED Lamp for 30 second intervals. There is no sitting around waiting for your nails to dry after you’re done. The color sets right away. The kit comes with one gel color of your choice. You can select from 18 Sephora By OPI shades. Sephora assistant manager, Rachel Gonzalez, says that you can expect your gel mani or pedi to last up to two weeks. She adds that some clients report even longer lasting results.
High Gloss Finish
The gel system is $159. Rachel points out that gel manicures run at least $40 in your average nail salon and that some salons charge extra for removal. So, you will recoup your investment quickly. While you will need to buy more gel polish and remover over time, Rachel explains the LED lamp can be used indefinitely.
Each additional gel shade is $17.50 and has enough polish in it for about a dozen manicures, reports Rachel.
