TREND ALERT: Rompers are Big!

9 Jul

How many times have you pulled the PERFECT skirt, shorts or skinnies out of your closet only to obsess over what shirt to add to the mix?

It’s only after a dozen or so rejects are strewn across your bed that you find the right top. Sound familiar?

A hot summer trend makes that dilemma disappear!  It’s the shorter cousin of the jumpsuit — ROMPERS!

They’re easy to wear and figure flattering. As Caché manger, Suzanna Alexander, describes it, “They skim your curves.”  Rompers are typically not skin tight and have drape to them. She calls them the new alternative to skinny jeans or short-shorts and says they are perfect for a night out. Pair them with a great pair of heels, wedges or platforms. Then stack on your favorite set of bangles and add a pair of statement earrings.

Here are some of my dressier finds from Caché as well as some daytime romper looks from Delia’s. All of these picks can also be dressed up or down with accessories. A pair of flip flops is a fast way to give off a more casual vibe.

Francis Simon, the assistant manager at Delia’s, adds that the more casual rompers can also play double duty as a swimsuit coverup.

So, what do you think about this trend?
