My Mom is the absolute best! I call her for advice or just to talk things over. She is my best advocate and I am hers. She is SO much fun to be with and has a fabulous outlook on life, live it to the fullest. I had a wonderful upbringing and am so fortunate to live everyday with her words of wisdom. The most important thing that I was taught is to treat people the way I want to be treated. She loves the shops at Towson Town Center and I would love her to win the gift card.
What a wonderful tribute!
-Rebecca
My friends at work have all heard my stories about Mom and I want to bring her in for ‘Show and tell’ one day.
You should! -Rebecca
My name is Jennifer Concepcion. This is a wonderful gift to give to my mother. She works part-time, takes care of my grandmother and still will helps with her 2 grandchildren anytime I need her to. She is very deserving of this, and I do hope she wins. Thanks for your consideration !
Jennifer,
Wow! Sounds like an amazing mom.
-Rebecca
My mom is the most amazing person I know. Not only is she my role model, she’s my best friend. She’s always taught me to never give up on my dreams, and if you work hard in life you can get anything you want. In 2006 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and like any challenge she has been given, she fought it like a champ and now has been cancer free for 5 years. Recently, my mom was laid off after 15 years of work. Instead of feeling defeated she decided to start her own baking company. So now, not only is she her own boss, she has her own bakery, and sells her desserts to some of the most popular restaurants on the eastern shore. I could go on and on about how proud I am of my mom. I am forever grateful to have such a loving and caring mother. I wouldn’t be where I’m at in my life if it wasn’t for her.
Meghan,
I’m thrilled to hear that your mom is cancer free! That’s amazing what she was able to do with starting her own bakery. I hope she gets to read what you wrote about her.
Best,
Rebecca
Hey!
I’m Anna De Leon and I know that my Mom deserves this! My mother and I are such feminine females we love to go shopping but lately we have been going through a lot of money troubles so we haven’t been able to go shopping anymore but with my mother’s beautiful and hopeful personality I know that we will make it through. Anyway, I know that my mother deserves this because she needs this to brighten up her wardrobe and life. Ultimately, I know that this would absolutely make her so happy! Also, because of our family’s recent money troubles me and my sister have been really tight on money so we aren’t able to give her the presents she really deserves this year. My sister and I are both college bound students so not only do we not have the money to take our mother out but because finals are encroaching on us we barely have time. Our mother has been the source of me and my sister’s strength at times when we’ve been so overwhelmed and stressed with school and life so I really want this year to be special. I would love for this to be a part of her mother’s day. I appreciate my mom and all the beauty she has instilled in us so please help me and my sister show her how much we love and appreciate her.
Thank you very much!,
Anna De Leon
Anna- I can see how much your mom means to you guys. What lady wouldn’t want to go on a shopping spree with her daughters?
250 words or less is not even nearly enough words to begin sharing how great my mom is. So in short, my mom has sacrificed most of her life taking care of others. She has giving up so much with no complaints. I honestly have no idea how she does it. She amazes me. Growing up it was her children. Now it is not only her children but her grandchildren as well. For years and years I have been trying to figure out a way pay her back for all that she has sacrificed through her life. But there is nothing in this world that could even come close to satisfying the debt that we owe her. But maybe, just maybe, this wonderful shopping spree could be just one of those little specs of repayment for her amazing selfless life. I love you mom!
That’s very sweet. You’re mom is a very lucky lady to have you!
Awe thanks, but honestly, I think I’m the lucky one here. I am so blessed to have her. I don’t know what I would do without her. She has my heart. : )
My mom is so amazing I even wrote about her in my college application essay. She has fought for me and my sister all our lives, making sure I got a lifesaving surgery when I was one and up till now. She helped me with Girl Scouts, selling cookies in a snowstorm. She stayed up late with last minute science fair projects; made sure I got all A’s and sacrificed so I could take advantage of any opportunity that would further my education. Even when she had cancer she never took a day off except for the actual days of her operations. She is the first person I told about my first kiss and I want her to cry at my wedding. She is the strongest woman I know and all that I am and all that I ever hope to be I have her to thank for it. She is my rock, my safe harbor and my best friend and I don’t know anyone who would care for me like she has. She should be the dictionary defintion of “Mother”. If anyone deserves this it’s her who never spends a penny on herself and has been the ‘soul’ support of our family.
No matter what you give mom for mother’s day, please promise that you will frame this essay for her! Sounds like an amazing woman.
Best,
Rebecca
I don’t think that one day is enough to appreciate all that my mother has done for me. She has always been there for her three children in ups-and-downs never failing her duty as our mother. She is our protector, our best friend, and our shoulder to cry on. I am grateful of all her sacrifice as a single mother to give us an opportunity to have a better life than she did. She is my hero, and forever in my heart. I try to make her proud of me everyday as a way to give back all that she had given to me, although I am still in high school- I know that I will have a great future and I have my mother to thank. You never know what may happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, so one should appreciate his/her mother everyday otherwise you might regret having never said thank you. She has worked hard all her life for her children, I’d like to think that she deserves a nice treat, that I myself would never be able to afford as of now.
I love what you said about taking the time to appreciate your mom everyday!
Please share this with your mom! I’m sure she would be so proud.
Best,
Rebecca
My mom is one of the most generous, warm and loving people I know. She always thinks of everyone else before herself. For example, she remembers the birthdays of everyone in the family which includes her 6 brothers/ sisters, their kids and their kids’ kids, not to mention her numerous friends! In fact, she even remembers my in-laws birthdays! She is always headed out to a birthday party, baby shower, funeral or wedding not just for her family and friends, but for distant family, her friend’s kids, her coworker’s kids, etc. By her many invitations you can see she has a real effect on people. As a result, she is always shopping, but not for herself but for everyone else, buying gifts to the many events she is invited to. I know that what makes her really happy is seeing others happy. On this Mother’s day I hope to send my mom on a shopping spree- not for her new granddaughter, or friend’s daughter’s baby shower, but for herself, although I am sure she would find something to buy for someone else. I hope I can look back someday and say that I left an impression on as many people as my mother did. Thank you for your consideration. Wishing all the mom’s out there a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Courtnay,
Sounds like your mom is an extremely generous woman with a heart of gold. As I’ve suggested to everyone here, I hope that you do share your essay with her.

Mother’s day is about showing how grateful you are to have that special
woman in your life. There are a few words I can describe my mother as.
First, she is a strong woman. My mother is strong because she has been
taking care of me on her own ever since I was little. It can be a
struggle trying to take care of everyone but yourself, especially on
your own. She is a strong and independent woman and as I get older I
would like to be as strong as she is. Second, my mother is creative; she
leaves lasting beauty in everything she touches. Third, my mother is a
sharing woman. She shares her cooking, her time and her home. When she
is blessed with something she often likes to share it with others. Next,
my mother is very supportive; and I don’t just mean emotionally. My mom
will help you clean the house you just bought, volunteer in the
community, and show up for all the concerts, games, programs and
ministries that I’m involved in. She almost has as much energy as a four
year old and with that she uses her support to share life with you when
you can’t get everything done that you want to. Last, my mother is a
phenomenal woman. She is a phenomenal woman because she does what is in
her heart and she manages to successfully get through her day no matter
what challenges she may be faced with.
Love what you wrote!! I love how you compared your mom’s energy to that of a 4-year-old. -Rebecca
Growing up my Mother was not as loved and supported as most children; she was the little girl that would look into a crowd of proud parents at numerous events such as high school graduation and see everyone else’s parents, but her own. I’m sure that lack of attention she received justifies why she is so supportive of my 3 siblings and me. From honor role assemblies to Girl Scout meetings and soccer games, she is in attendance with her camera every time.
She is always the first to brag about the accomplishments of her husband and kids, but never says a word about the great things she does. She is Fist Aid certified and has pulled over on the road numerous times to help unnamed victims. The most recent good deed I’ve seen her do was save a woman from being strangled to death by her boyfriend. My mom pulled over on the road to a woman screaming that her daughter was going to be killed. Not knowing whether or not this man was armed, my mother put herself in harms way to rescue this girl, for she knew the police would not arrive in time. She was able to miraculously scare the boy away and stayed with the half-dead victim until the police arrived. My mom was later told that if she hadn’t stepped in, the girl would have died. My mom is a heroine. She does so much for others and deserves something back in return.
Marissa,
You just made me cry! Your mom is a true heroine! Please promise that you will share this with her.
Best,
Rebecca
Thank you, she truly is. We fight a lot and don’t quite seem to see eye to eye all the time, but I still admire her more than she could ever imagine. My mom never shares these stories with anyone so I’m glad I’m able to shed some light on her greatness somewhere.
-Marissa
Marissa,
Thanks for writing and sharing about your mom.
Best,
Rebecca
My mom is a stay-at-home mom of four. She constantly puts family and even strangers before herself. A few years ago she started a program called Troops 4 Troops in which she had her Girl Scouts send over homemade cookies, cards, and other supplies to service men and women over sees. Recently, one of our recipients came home from serving in Afghanistan and his girlfriend not only left him, but had taken literally all the money that he had had in the bank. This soldier could not even feed himself, or pay his electricity bill. Seeing his bare cabinets, my mom emailed everyone she knew for food and monetary donations. She bought food, made frozen dinners and brought them over, and even invited him to dinner with our own family. After delivering all the items, our soldier emailed a picture of his new, freshly-stocked cabinets out to all the Girl Scouts, thanking them. He said before he had to worry about not eating, and now he had to worry about his shelves breaking under the weight of all the food he received in loving support. Being a one-income family with 4 children, my parents have to be careful with expenses. My mom will wear a pair of sneakers with ragged laces and a hole on top if it means she can buy new Mario sneakers for my little brother instead of for herself. I want to win to give her something in return for all she gives others.
Wow… sounds like an amazing woman. This is such an incredible story. Thank you for sharing. Please share what you wrote with you mom as well.
Best,
Rebecca
