Meet my latest GURU Style Stars — Tina and Crystal Tringali.
This look-a-like mother and daughter duo from Westminster tell me that they didn’t plan to wear similar outfits — tops with belts paired with leggings.
Crystal, 16, is wearing a black and turquoise cut-out top (Mom’s). She paired it with a leopard print belt and cropped leggings, both from XXI Forever (Levels 1 & 2). Tina’s purple sweater and black belt are also from XXI Forever.
I met them while they were at the mall, shopping for a prom dress for Crystal.
After talking to this pair for a few moments, the similar outfits are far from a surprise. They tell me that sometimes when shopping together in a store, they’ll go off in different directions and meet back up with the same clothing in hand.
Tina: I don’t know. I just like clothes. I like something that’s different. I don’t like hum drum things.Crystal: I like wearing a lot of different things. I don’t know how to describe it. I like colorful things.
Tina: Forever 21 and Nordstrom.Crystal: Forever 21 and PacSun.
Tina: My belts. You can take any shirt and put a belt around it. It changes the whole look. I’ll buy a large shirt and put a belt on with it. My leggings, I wear legging everyday. They are so comfortable. They go with everything that I have.
Tina: Long shirts with leggings and belts. The smallest part of me is my waist. I like to wear a belt that accentuates my waist.Crystal: I like a bit of everything.
Tina adds that she tries to buy things she knows that she and Crystal both will wear and that it doubles their wardrobe. Great savings strategy! Tina says she also pays attention to prices and always hits the sales rack.
