Meet the newest GURU Style Star, Alissa Mandanici!
Alissa’s standout, python print dress caught my eye as I walked by Michael Kors (Level 2), where she works. That was even before I got up close and saw the detailing on the dress. The dress has ruching along one of the side seams, with a python patterned drawstring weaving in and out of gold D-rings that ties at the bottom.
Alissa’s open-toe taupe booties are also from Michael Kors, as is about half of her wardrobe.
I like to keep up with the trends, as far as what is in. I shop in a lot of different places. I like whatever feels comfortable to me and also looks stylish at the same time. I like a lot of prints and bright colors for the spring. I think wedge heels are really great for spring as well.
To me, it’s comfortable. It’s very lightweight. I think it attracts people into the store. It’s different. The shoes are also comfortable as well as cute. When shoppers see my outfit and shoes, they ask, “Where did you get them?”
I have this pair of heels from Michael Kors. They are ankle booties. They are the most comfortable heels I’ve worn in my life. They have a really thick platform with padding inside. I wore them to death until the heel actually cracked in half. I got them fixed and still wear them. They were my first purchase here.
I would say sometime between the ’70s and ’80s. I like the higher pencil skirt idea. I think older styles in general from the ’70s, ’80s, even ’90s are coming back little by little.
I have my mom’s mink jackets. I have a lot of gloves, really nice leather gloves that kept up really nice, just stuff she thinks would last. My grandmother, she gives me a lot of jewelry that either she doesn’t wear or things she knows are more my style than her style.
Probably Arden B. I like that I can get a cute dress to go out in at night. I like that I can get a sweater and leggings to wear to class. The colors always coordinate with the season. You can get your whole wardrobe in one place. You can get pretty much everything you need there beside makeup.
