Time to meet the latest GURU Style Star! Introducing Lindsey Barnaba of Bel Air.
I met Lindsey last Thursday while gathering information for a blog post at Arden B. and knew the moment I saw her that she had to be my next GURU Style Star. She was on a day off from working at a UPS store and says she usually pops in the mall on Thursdays to check out the newest clothes and deals.
Many of the pieces Lindsey is wearing come from the mall. Her “cold shoulder” style top is from Victoria’s Secret. Her leggings and earrings are Forever 21 finds. The boots are from Delia’s. Lindsey bought her Marc Jacobs bag and Michael Kors watch at Norstrom.
While she calls her style “comfy,” I think I would have to add the word “sassy” to go along with it.
Here is our Q&A.
Tell me about your style.
Lindsey: I just put on what works.
If you had to describe your style by naming a celebrity, who would it be and why?
Lindsey: I’d have to say Kardashians meets Jersey Housewives. I love over the top things. I am very gaudy. I love anything that sparkles and stands out. I like to be different and try new trends.
Are you a trend setter or a trend follower?
Lindsey: Definitely, I’m a trend follower. I wish I was a trend setter. You see stuff in magazines that you want to go and buy. That’s what I do.
What is your most treasured item?
Lindsey: I have these skinny jeans that I wear all the time. They are William Rast. They are comfy. They’re stretchy. You can eat in them.
Do you get dressed and go or do you try on lots of different outfits?
Lindsey: If I go out on a Friday night, I’ll probably try on 25 outfits before I find the right outfit. I probably over dress sometimes.
What is your favorite trend right now?
Lindsey: I’ve pretty much tried every one. Fur. Leather leggings… I really like color blocking and all the different brights and pastels right now. I like lace and eyelet stuff.
Where is your favorite place to shop at the mall?
Lindsey: Nordstrom (mostly The Rack) would have to be my favorite store at Towson Town. I am a bargain hunter and I hate paying full price for anything. The Rack always has great dresses, shoes, bags, jeans and accessories and I am in LOVE with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Such great deals!
