GURU Style Star: Lindsay Lopez

12 Jan

I’m back with another GURU Style Star profile. Every Thursday, I’m introducing you to a new GURU Style Star- fashionable Towson Town Center shoppers I find while I’m scoping out the mall for great deals and great products.

Meet Lindsay Lopez of Baltimore, who recently moved back to the East Coast after spending the past 10 years in Northern California. Her husband’s job brought her back home.  She is a hair stylist and a mom to a 2 and half year old boy.

She scored many components of her outfit seen here from Towson Town Center. Her Fergie boots are from Nordstrom. Her leggings come from H&M, and her brown bag is Michael Kors. She can’t remember where she found her purple scarf — a perfect accessory as we approach the Raven’s playoff game!

As Lindsay describes her outfit, her husband chimes in, “Santa was good to her this year!”

How would you describe your style?

Lindsay:  I like simple yet I like things with bling. I like rhinestones. I like hardware. I like playing up a simple outfit.  I like leopard. Anything leopard print!

What is your style secret?

Lindsay: Putting random things together and I also look at fashion magazines.

How would you say your time in California influenced your style?

Lindsay:  People are laid back yet still like to get dressed up. Being in the hair industry, I feel like you always have to dress to impress, even though I’m not dressed to impress today. I just rolled out of bed.

Have you ever modeled?

Lindsay: I modeled my hands for Cover Girl, probably 13 or 14 years ago. I was still in high school.

What is your most treasured item in your closet?

Lindsay:  Probably just my simple, short black dress. You can make it causal or you can dress it up with lots of jewelry.

What is the go-to item in your closet when you want to look amazing?

Lindsay:  Probably my skinny jeans. I feel like they make every woman look great!

What is the oldest item in your closet?

Probably my black sequined shorts that I got back in high school. I wore them in San Diego for my friend’s bachelorette party a couple months ago.  They still fit. It made me feel good that they still fit and I could actually still rock them!

What is favorite store at Towson Town Center and why?

Nordstrom because I just love all the different brands that they carry. They are super accommodating, and the return policy is amazing.

Now for a surprise — Lindsay is 3 months pregnant in this picture. She hasn’t broken out the maternity clothes just yet but is happy that a pregnancy wardrobe today does not mean needing to wear the kind of “frumpy” clothes she says her mom wore while carrying her. Congrats to Lindsay on baby number #2.

Stay tuned for next Thursday’s GURU Style Star! I’m on the prowl for shoppers showcasing the latest trends and those setting their own!

Love Lindsay’s style! Your blog really inspires me to jump out of my comfort zone. Now that I have your blog to help guide me, I feel so much more comfortable and eager to visit the mall. I used to just shop a lot online, always getting the same things because I didn’t want to try new styles. NOT ANYMORE! Now I’m excited to go to the mall and visit stores I’ve never been in, so I can try on stuff I would never have considered before! It’s like I have a personal shopper to help me and you can’t get that feeling from Amazon.com. Your posts about Tangerine Tango and yellow being the new spring colors really inspired me and I want to try them on in person, not just see an outfit online. I already have some yellow in my “collection” but never thought of tangerine. Now that I saw it in your blog, I’m heading over to the mall to see if tango is right for me! Maybe I’ll be your next Style Star?

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m thrilled to hear that you are stepping outside of your comfort zone. I think it’s so important to do that in everything in life. I’m happy to help you find the right Tangerine Tango or yellow pieces. I will be out of town for a couple days but will help you when I return. You just may be the next Style Star….

      Best,
      Rebecca
